The Artist
About Aberdoodles
Hello everyone, my name is Abbie Cothran and I am a self-taught artist from Cleveland, Tennessee. My art journey began when I was about 5 years old, which started with coloring, sketching portraits of family members, and drawing a lot (more like a ton) of animals as well as family pets. My parents noticed my talent and had always encouraged me to keep drawing. Once I got into high school, I started taking formal art classes as well as an art history class, which widely expanded the mediums and taught me about many great artists from the past and present. I don’t have any particular style to describe myself as other than being a mixed medium artist. The mediums I create with include a variety of paints such as oil, watercolor, and acrylics. I also use pencils, pens, markers, clay, and most recently started using papier-mâché. I also am environmentally conscious, so I try to thrift most materials incorporated into my work, such as frames, canvases, junk jewelry, and will even ask my friends or family for their “trash” to use in packaging finished products (don’t worry, it is clean trash). My favorite thing about making art is that it grounds me therapeutically. I highly enjoy gifting my art to friends and family, especially for special occasions! Please feel free to browse my work, and if you are interested in a custom commission piece, send me an email in the description below.
Strive to be the best version of yourself every day. Breathe, create, and feel inspired.
Love, Abernoodle
